Algoa Brick is one of the biggest plaster brick (NFP) production facilities in the Eastern Cape, manufacturing a combined annual capacity of about 30 million brick equivalents. Our NFP and some FBA products are produced at our Swartkops, Gqeberha production facility.
Although its roots reach back to 1945, the company originated in its current guise in 2002 and since then, has gone from strength to strength.
Algoa Brick manufactures a full range of quality clay bricks, and has supplied to the Nelson Mandela Bay and Eastern Cape region for nearly 80 years. There are two production plants on site – Plant 2 is exactly double the capacity of Plant 1.
Our clay brick has been successfully used in residential and commercial construction projects throughout the Eastern Cape, where quality, consistency, durability and versatility are critical to the success of the building.
Our clay masonry bricks are available in a wide selection of surface textures, shapes and natural hues. They can be used as stand alone structural elements, in multi-story building or as an attractive cladding material, or filler between structural elements. Natural aesthetics also make them a popular choice for face brick facades or for external features such as perimeter walling, which when combined with other materials like wrought iron railings create a spectacular effect.

Algoa has supported CBASA for over 40 years, as they research safe and sustainable production of clay bricks and pavers and educate South Africans on best practice in masonry construction techniques.
The Association is renowned for its first-rate technical information that is used by the construction industry to design, detail and build in burnt clay masonry products with absolute confidence.
