To honour the life and legacy of our late president Nelson Mandela whom this year is his centenary, Algoa Brick partnered with Zwartkops Conservancy and the Department of Water and Sanitation to take part in cleaning our environment at the Motherwell Stormwater Canal. We were supplied with bags, gloves and rakes upon our arrival. We embarked on cleaning the sides of the canal, the initiative was fun and well supported, we had made a real difference to the Swartkops Estuary.

As Algoa Brick we are proud to have partnered and participated in this initiative in making a difference in the community and commemorating Tata Madiba.

Mandela Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world, the ability to make an impact. The Mandela Day campaign message is: "Nelson Mandela has fought for social justice for 67 years. We're asking you to start with 67 minutes."

“Today we should all ask ourselves: What have I done to improve the surroundings in which I live? Do I litter or do I protect my surroundings? Do I buy stolen goods or do I help reduce crime?" Nelson Mandela”
